There are some 7-inch Android tablets that can be had for less than US$100, some for just US$70. And virtually all the ones I’ve seen in stores are crappy, from no-name manufacturers. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.
But prices of these smaller tablets from industry leaders have been creeping lower. HP’s Slate 7 is just US$169, and Google’s Nexus 7 is just on the other side of US$200 – US$229 to be exact.
Now, ASUS has started selling an Android tablet of the same size for less than the price of the Nexus 7 and Slate 7. The MeMO Pad™ HD 7, which hit store and digital shelves yesterday, can be yours for just US$149.
