Parted Magic is a Linux-based distro designed mainly for disk partitioning, using programs like VisParted, while featuring other useful programs (e.g. Partition Image, TestDisk, fdisk, sfdisk, dd, ddrescue, etc.) and an excellent set of documentation to benefit the user. An extensive collection of fileystem tools are also included.

Comments: Parted Magic can be used as a LiveCD or LiveUSB. From the LiveCd environment, you can create a Parted Magic LiveUSB using a simple graphical utility. The main program in Parted Magic is VisParted, which makes it easy to manipulate (grow, shrink, move, copy, etc) a wide range of file systems – ntfs, fat, reiserfs, reiser4, hfs+, etc. Aside from VisParted, this distro also feature the following:
TestDisk – for those times when you need to recover or repair a disk partition.
PhotoRec – to help recover documents and files from hard disk, cdrom, and pictures from digital camera memory.
