convert ext4 to ntfs without loosing data

Asked by: 1524 views Disk Partition, Linux Mint, Ubuntu

i tried installing linux mint 12, there was some error in copying files due to which installation failed. what this installtion did was it converted both of my partitions into ext4, so mint not installed win7 won’t boot up. so i formatted C: system partition n installed win7 again. but there is no second partition in my computer. in disk manager it shows that D: is in “other” format. is there any way of converting it back to ntfs without loosing data. n if i install mint will be able to explore D: partion in mint? any help would be appritiated

You can use any live cd. Kive xp or hiren boot cd or any other cd like ubuntu and run in a live mode then access your hard drive and format it.

Very easy way is to use hiren boot cd and go to the option of mini xp——–after launching it You can go for disc management and format it
