   If the disk has crashed, you can recover all your data from the crashed disk. Just follow these steps:

   1. Booting the computer from Ubuntu’s installation CD

   2. Open the file manager. The disk should be listed on the (left) pane

   3. Clicking on the disk should open its contents. Click to your home folder on the disk, then copy all the data you want to recover to an external storage device

   4. Shutdown the computer

   5. Replace the disk

   6. Re-install Ubuntu

   7. Finally, copy your data over
