Ubuntu 11.04 installer does not recognize Windows

Asked by: 2807 views , , , ,
Dual-booting, Ubuntu

I am trying to dual-boot Ubuntu 11.04 and Windows 7, but when at the disk allocation step, the installer shows no indication that Windows is installed on the machine. I know it is.

How do I go about setting this up correctly?

    I’ve observed that myself.

The way around it is to select the “Something else” option on that page. That will start the Advanced partitioning tool. It is not really advanced, but that is what Ubuntu calls it. Finid has an article on the main site. See it here
