How do I check if my laptop can run ubuntu 11.04

i have just been introduced to Ubuntu Linux and I’ll like to install it on my laptop. How do I know if it will run on my laptop? The Ubuntu Linux I want to use is Ubuntu 11.04.

    Your laptop will certainly run Ubuntu 11.04. The big question is, will it run Unity?

    Unity is Ubuntu’s desktop interface, and like GNOME 3, it requires hardware accelerated graphics to run. If you laptop cannot run Unity, it will default to the Classic desktop.

    download a liveCD version or create a bootable USB stick and ‘try’ it is the best option. Also have a look on ubuntuforum.org for tips and tweaks if needed
