Configure Canon i960 printer

Asked by: 1162 views , , ,

I have always been able to configure HP printer automatically on Linux Mint and Ubuntu. I just ‘inherited” a Canon i960, but it is not being auto-configured because of driver issues. I checked the manufacturer’s website, but there are no Linux drivers available for download.

How can I configure this particular Canon printer on either Ubuntu 11.04 or Linux Mint 11?

Canon’s i960 and the i865 use the same driver. So to configure your printer, use the manual printer configuration tool and select i865 from the list of Canon models. I have one working right here.
