Can you install Linux dual boot in an extended partition

Asked by: 1430 views ,
Ubuntu

I am thinking about installing Ubuntu 11.04 on a windows computer with three primary ntfs partitions. Since I have just one primary partition left, will Ubuntu or any other Linux distribution  I choose be able to install successfully on an extended partition?

Yes, all Linux partitions, including /boot, can be logical partitions of an extended partition. A good example is in this tutorial where all the Ubuntu 11.04 partitions are logical partitions.
