GNOME 3 hardware requirements and fallback mode

Asked by: 4108 views , , , , ,
Fedora, GNOME 3

I installed Fedora 15, but it will not run GNOME 3. It offers to run in fallback mode because my system does not meet the hardware specs. It does not say exactly what my computer needs to run GNOME 3 in all its glory.

Anybody please tell me what I need to run GNOME 3.

If you do not have the hardware to run GNOME 3, you may read this article for some insights and screenshots.

    From the GNOME 3 website:

Computers purchased in the last 4 or 5 years should be more than capable of running GNOME 3. The GNOME 3 desktop does require hardware accelerated graphics in order to provide a cutting-edge experience however, and the complete GNOME 3 experience will only be available on computers capable of this.
