With 15 days left, Kano has raised more than $1 million on Kickstarter

You know your project will be a hit when you ask an investor for USD $100,000, but instead, you get a check for USD $1 million.

That’s what’s happening to Kano, a computer project powered by Raspberry Pi that enables anybody, including kids, to assemble a computer from scratch.

The guys behind Kano started a project on Kickstarter with the goal of raising USD $100,000. With 15 days left to go, the sum raised has crossed the USD $1 million mark. And at the rate people are pumping money in, it could raise close to USD $1.5 million by December 19 (2013), the project’s closing date on Kickstarter. That screams success. Maybe Mark Shuttleworth should talk to the Kano guys.

This image shows how much Kano has raised at just about the time I hit the Publish button on this article.
