ROSA Marathon 2012 GNOME preview

The first Release Candidate of ROSA Marathon 2012 GNOME edition has been released. ROSA Marathon is a line of Linux distributions published by ROSA Laboratory, a Linux solutions provider based in Moscow, Russia.

Other Linux editions published by ROSA Laboratory are ROSA Marathon 2012 KDE and ROSA Marathon 2012 LXDE. Both have already been reviewed on this website. See ROSA 2012 LXDE review and ROSA Marathon 2012 review.

This Release Candidate of what will become ROSA Marathon 2012 GNOME uses the GNOME 2, and not the latest GNOME 3 desktop environment. This article presents a few screen shots from a test installation.

First, is the login screen.

    Being something of a ‘distro-junkie’ ( I download and install weekly)
    I was surprised to find ROSA a pretty good example of a well built distro. Unfortunately with SO many other distros it will most likely
    remain a somewhat small in terms of users. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. My own personal choices tend to be Ubuntu-based OS’s
    so that’s not a bad thing. I do wish the developers luck and kudos for a nice job..

    • All their editions are actually much better than many of the popular ones out there. I have the KDE edition on my lappy and it is not going to be replaced anytime soon.
